The “culinary capital of the world” is a big city in the heart of France, and just 2 hours away from Paris by the super fast TGV trains. Lyon is first and foremost associated with the most exquisite of French cuisine. If you do not want to be seduced by restaurant menus and flavors, you can have lunch at one of the typical bouchons, the pubs that serve real French food in copious quantities. Try the Lyonses speciality cervelle de canut, which is an exquisite cream cheese.
The city centre Presqu’île has museums, squares and places with fine decoration, and here you can enjoy delicious food and wine at the many restaurants. Goose liver paté is an exclusive butcher. The old town, Vieux Lyon, with its narrow streets, is considered one of Europe’s largest renaissance neighbourhoods. In addition, Lyon is known for its Roman theatre, and the St. Jean Cathedral, located in the middle of the old town. The city is surrounded by open and idyllic terrain, and is the capital of the Rhône-Alpes region stretching from Provence in the south to the Beaujolais wine district in the north.
The school is located just off Lyon’s historic centre, and also offers various leisure activities each week, such as city walking, wine tasting, concerts and excursions to the surrounding area.
